Tom studied philosophy in college and came to believe that God did not exist—that there was no higher power. What followed were experiences—painful, disorienting, and transformative—that unsettled that certainty. Over time, he discovered something he could never have reasoned his way into: that beneath the confusion, failure, and not knowing there is a great love that holds us.
